Basketball Game Preview: Bennington Badgers vs. Blair Bears

The Bennington Badgers are taking a road trip to challenge the Blair Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bennington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.5 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Bennington greeted the New Year with with a 61-44 victory over Platteview.

Bennington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Blaize Jung led the charge by going 6 for 8 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. Gavin Olson was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Blair opened the new year with a less-than-successful 58-49 defeat to Hastings.

Blair has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Bennington, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Bennington strolled past Blair in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 63-48. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Blair's Crayton Macholan, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for Bennington to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
