Baseball Recap: Tri-County Wins Going Away Against Frontier

Tri-County owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They blew past the Frontier Falcons 7-0. Considering the Cavaliers have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Grayson Schneider made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Tyler Burns was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Luke Voors, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Tri-County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Frontier, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-5.

Coming up, Tri-County will head out to challenge Rensselaer Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Frontier, they will square off against Rossville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
