Willow Canyon unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 35-6 loss at the hands of the Arizona College Prep Knights. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Justin Garr Jr threw for 36 yards and one TD. Tobi Alade was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards. On the ground, Channce Jones rushed for 43 yards.

Evan Heinrich was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 199 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score.
