Baseball Game Preview: Fort Dorchester Patriots vs. Summerville Green Wave

For the second straight game, Fort Dorchester will face off against Summerville. The Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fort Dorchester will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Fort Dorchester took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Summerville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Patriots skirted past the Green Wave 4-3.

RJ Hamilton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 13 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Hamilton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Banks Wickersham, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one double.

Summerville's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-7. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 3.2 runs. As for Fort Dorchester, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.
