After a string of seven wins, True North Classical Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to the Miramar Patriots 76-71.

True North Classical Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Boosie Swan, who posted 20 points and eight steals. Swan has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last eight times he's played. Quincy Douby Jr was another key player, going 7 of 12 on his way to 20 points.

Joshua Skinner was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 15 en route to 35 points and six rebounds for Miramar. That makes it four consecutive games in which Skinner has scored at least a third of Miramar's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Martell Smith, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 17 points and six assists.

True North Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Miramar, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

True North Classical Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-64 win against Plantation on the 20th. Miramar has also already played their next match, a 54-42 defeat against North Tampa Christian Academy on the 20th.
