Softball Preview: Falls Lake Firebirds vs. East Wake Academy Eagles

Falls Lake is a perfect 10-0 against East Wake Academy since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Firebirds will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Falls Lake after they put the first run on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Franklin Academy by a score of 3-2.

Wynterlee Glenn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
