Trinidad is 0-3 against Monte Vista since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Miners will be playing at home against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m.
Trinidad's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Ignacio on Friday. They took a hard 14-0 fall against the Bobcats. The game marked the first time this season in which the Miners were not able to get on the board.
Xavier Garcia put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 81 yards on only eight carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards.

Even if they lost, Trinidad's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In that department, Andrew East was the leader with two. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one sack the last ten times he's played. Another thorn in Ignacio's side was Connor Knezel, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monte Vista). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 57-0 victory over Del Norte. The Pirates have beaten the Tigers the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.
Trinidad better keep an eye on Judah Howe. He was instrumental in Monte Vista's win, rushing for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. Howe didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made two total tackles. Kelby Mondragon was another key player, gaining 43 total yards and two touchdowns.
Monte Vista's run defense was locked in: Del Norte could only muster 1.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Lucas Pino for the heroic effort on defense: he. Monte Vista's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 3.8 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 7.93 on average over their last five games.
Monte Vista didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Azariah Hurtado led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.
Monte Vista's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Trinidad, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
