Football Recap: Helias' Undefeated Season over After 12 Games

Helias and Nixa squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Helias had to settle for second. The game between the Crusaders and the Eagles didn't end well, with the Crusaders falling 45-28. The loss was the Crusaders' first of the season.

Nixa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adam McKnight, who rushed for 92 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries, and also threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns on perfect 11-for-11 passing. That's the most rushing yards McKnight has posted since back in September. Randy Flint was another key player, picking up 135 receiving yards and two scores.

Having lost for the first time this season, Helias fell to 11-1. As for Nixa, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Helias does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nixa, they will take on Pattonville at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. The Eagles will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.27 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
