Softball Game Preview: Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors vs. Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks

The Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Our Lady of Lourdes and five for Newburgh Free Academy.

Our Lady of Lourdes managed to slip by Spackenkill the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Warriors came up short against the Spartans on Thursday, falling 13-6. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked the Warriors' highest-scoring game to date.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Newburgh Free Academy's offense. They lost 11-0 to Pine Bush on Monday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Goldbacks were not able to get on the board.

Our Lady of Lourdes' defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Newburgh Free Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Our Lady of Lourdes couldn't quite get it done against Newburgh Free Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-6. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
