Volleyball Recap: Pinnacle Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pinnacle can now relate to. They came up short against the Hamilton Huskies on Monday, falling 3-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

While Pinnacle was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Hamilton's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Pinnacle saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kennedy Melashenko had 12 digs. Those 12 digs set a new season-high mark for Melashenko.

Whitney Pierzga was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 12 assists and two aces. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September.

Pinnacle's defeat dropped their record down to 20-14. As for Hamilton, they pushed their record up to 28-10 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Pinnacle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hamilton, they will square off against Corona del Sol at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
