It was a good run, but Alexander unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 72-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the United Longhorns. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bulldogs came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Longhorns are ranked 246th).

Alexander's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 20-5. As for United, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-9.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing United South the next time they take the court. Alexander will head out to face United South at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while United will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
