Justin Levine made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Freddie Avitto looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

Levine wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Rosario, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Joseph Napoli also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Salesian not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5, 2024. They blew past Morris 17-6.

Kristopher Paredez was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Amir Inoa, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

St. Peter's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Salesian, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. St. Peter's has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Salesian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

St. Peter's took their victory against Salesian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Peter's since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
