Basketball Game Preview: Albuquerque Academy Chargers vs. Gallup Bengals

The Albuquerque Academy Chargers will face off against the Gallup Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Back in December of 2024, Albuquerque Academy strolled past Belen with points to spare, taking the game 49-35. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gallup, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 win over Taos on Friday.

Gallup pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Albuquerque Academy, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Everything went Albuquerque Academy's way against Gallup in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Albuquerque Academy made off with a 92-67 victory. In that game, Albuquerque Academy amassed a halftime lead of 45-25, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
