Basketball Recap: Math & Science Academy Comes Up Short

Math & Science Academy lost against St. Croix Prep back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Math & Science Academy Dragons were outmatched by the St. Croix Prep Lions and fell 88-53. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Lions are ranked 83rd).

Math & Science Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for St. Croix Prep, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Math & Science Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Community of Peace Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. St. Croix Prep and Holy Family Catholic will round out the year against one another at at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. St. Croix Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Holy Family Catholic likes a good challenge.
