Basketball Recap: West-Oak Warriors vs. Crescent Tigers
West-Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 67-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crescent Tigers. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Max Wallace, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 14 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Trevor White, who made all 5 shots he took to post 16 points.
Crescent's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Philip Deveaux led the charge by going 6 for 11 en route to 19 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. What's more, Deveaux also racked up four steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Jas'Yiah Davis was another key player, putting up 20 points and four steals.
West-Oak's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Crescent, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

As for Crescent, they will head out on the road to face off against Belton-Honea Path at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Belton-Honea Path sitting on three straight victories and Crescent on four.
