Volleyball Recap: Random Lake Rams vs. Oostburg Flying Dutchmen
Random Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Oostburg Flying Dutchmen. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flying Dutchmen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 18-25, 25-8, 25-19.
Micayla Keller paced Random Lake's offense, picking up ten kills. Keller got some help from Jemma Schwab and her 14 assists. Alivia Stefanich controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Leading Oostburg to victory were Brianna Dana and Lucy Soerens. Dana had nine digs and three aces, while Soerens had 13 assists and three digs. That's the most digs Dana has posted over her last 15 matchups. Johanna Molina also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.
Random Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Oostburg, their victory bumped their record up to 15-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Random Lake will host Howards Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oostburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Holstein at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
