Softball Recap: Calvary Chapel Takes a Loss

Calvary Chapel had lost six straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-16 to make it seven. They fell 10-5 to the Katella Knights. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 12-7.

Bella Bos made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Savanna Bias, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

As for Katella, their record is now 12-13. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

On Katella's side, Dani Neville made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Neville has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jazlyn Garcia, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Nataly Rodarte, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

As of now, neither Calvary Chapel nor Katella have any future games scheduled.
