Basketball Game Preview: Thorne Bay Wolverines vs. Kake Thunderbirds

The Thorne Bay Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the Kake Thunderbirds at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Thorne Bay, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Kake's (thus far) undefeated season.

Thorne Bay is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Klawock on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Thorne Bay was beaten by Klawock 81-44. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.

Meanwhile, Kake didn't have too much trouble with Non Varsity Opponent on Friday as they won 55-41. The 55-point effort marked the Thunderbirds' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Thorne Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Kake, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Thorne Bay was taken down by Kake 79-12 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Thorne Bay avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
