St. Joseph was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Westhill on Thursday. The Cadets were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Vikings. The result was nothing new for the Cadets, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Adyson Magliocco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. Joseph kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McMahon). They blew past Bridgeport Central 27-5 on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Senators needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Caroline Sattler made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sattler was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for McMahon, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.

McMahon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Joseph has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. It's a different story for McMahon, though, as they've been averaging 10.8 hits. Given St. Joseph's sizable advantage in that area, the Senators will need to find a way to close that gap.

St. Joseph took their win against McMahon in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-2 score. Will the Cadets repeat their success, or do the Senators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
