Softball Preview: Ariton Purple Cats vs. Carroll Eagles

Ariton is 6-0 against Carroll since March of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Ariton Purple Cats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Carroll Eagles at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Ariton's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Carroll has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Ariton was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Charles Henderson by a score of 8-3.

Macileigh Bragg was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Brianna Acahua was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Carroll might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-3 to Headland, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Kaileigh Gardner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a double.

Ariton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
