Basketball Recap: Gallia Academy Comes Up Short

Gallia Academy played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Waverly Tigers, falling 64-39. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

This is the second loss in a row for Gallia Academy and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Waverly, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gallia Academy will challenge Portsmouth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Portsmouth will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Gallia Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Waverly, they will face off against Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Waverly knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Washington likes a good challenge.
