Smoky Valley is 0-4 against Southeast of Saline since April of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. On Tuesday, Smoky Valley beat Lyons 14-11. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Rylie Neywick made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Neywick was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kenzley Haxton was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Rylie Tolle was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Smoky Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Southeast of Saline waltzed into their contest on April 8th with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Buffaloes 14-1.
Like Smoky Valley, Southeast of Saline also got a great game from a two-way player: Carlee Dye. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Dye was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Kyiah Samuelson was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Abby Wyatt, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Smoky Valley's win bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Southeast of Saline, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
