Basketball Recap: Western Brown Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Goshen, Western Brown was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-66 win over the New Richmond Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Broncos have posted against the Lions since January 7, 2022.

New Richmond's loss came despite strong showings from Grant Hess and Preston Dykes. Hess went 11 of 15 on his way to 30 points and five rebounds, while Dykes dropped a double-double on 12 points and 21 boards. The match was Hess' seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Sininger, who posted 12 points.

Western Brown's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for New Richmond, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Western Brown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-45 defeat against Greenup County on the 18th. New Richmond has also already played their next game, an 82-68 victory against Deer Park on the 18th.
