Basketball Recap: Olathe North Falls Short Against Ranked Mill Valley

On Tuesday, Olathe North faced Mill Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Olathe North Eagles took a 66-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mill Valley Jaguars. The Eagles have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Olathe North's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Mill Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles duke it out with the Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Olathe North has won ten straight at home dating back to last season, while Olathe Northwest won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Mill Valley, they will head out to challenge Lawrence Free State at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mill Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Lawrence Free State likes a good challenge.
