Softball Game Preview: Hayesville Yellowjackets vs. Cherokee Braves

Hayesville hasn't had much luck against Cherokee recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets will head out on the road to take on the Braves at 4:30 p.m. Hayesville has given up an average of 11.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hayesville is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Copper Basin, falling 12-2.

Meanwhile, Cherokee fell victim to Hiwassee Dam and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Braves were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for Cherokee and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Hayesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Hayesville suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Cherokee when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
