Basketball Recap: Guardian Angels Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Guardian Angels Central Catholic lost against Wayne back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wayne Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Blue Devils are ranked 22nd).

Wayne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaxson Kneifl led the charge by putting up 11 points. Colson Nelsen was another key player, scoring 11 points.

Guardian Angels Central Catholic's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Wayne, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays take on the O'Neill Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wayne, they will host Wahoo at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th.
