The Vela Sabercats will square off against the Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Vela sitting on 18 straight wins and Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial on 36.

Vela is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Rivera 74-49. The Sabercats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Jordan Bustamante was his usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-8 from downtown and dropping a double-double with 27 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jp Olivarez, who scored 15 points and seven assists.

Vela was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rivera only seven assists.

Meanwhile, Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial blew past Palmview, posting a 74-46 victory. The Eagles are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout on Tuesday was the 26th game they've won by 20+ points this season.

Vela pushed their record up to 34-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 36-0.
