Soccer Game Preview: Edwardsburg vs. Sturgis

The Edwardsburg Eddies are taking a road trip to challenge the Sturgis Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Edwardsburg has given up an average of 4.8 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Edwardsburg came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 7-1 to Vicksburg. Edwardsburg have struggled against Vicksburg recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Sturgis fell victim to Three Rivers and their airtight defense on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

Edwardsburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Sturgis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-1 record this season.

Edwardsburg took their victory against Sturgis in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eddies since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
