Basketball Recap: Walnut Hills' Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

After flying high against Mt. Healthy last Saturday, Walnut Hills came back down to earth. The Walnut Hills Eagles fell to the Milford Eagles 39-34. That makes it the first time this season Walnut Hills has let down their home crowd.

Milford found their leader in sophomore Gabby Chadwell, who posted 16 points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds. Those seven steals gave Chadwell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Violet Shuluga, who had 11 points.

Walnut Hills' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-2. As for Milford, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Walnut Hills will head out to square off against Loveland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Walnut Hills' defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Loveland's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Milford, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on West Clermont at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Clermont will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Milford surely won't give up without a fight.
