Basketball Recap: Ferndale Takes a Loss

Ferndale suffered their biggest loss since January 26, 2024 on Thursday. They were beaten by the Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams 79-34. The Yellow Jackets haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ely Walker, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 19 points along with six steals and five boards. Those 19 points gave Walker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bronson Perez, who went 8-for-10 to rack up 19 points and four steals.

Ferndale's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-3.

Ferndale has already played their next match, a 60-41 victory against Blacklick Valley on the 18th. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-41 win against Shanksville Stonycreek on the 21st.
