California extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 5-9-2 in the process. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Cherry Rangers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 on Monday.

Logan Hartley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Chase Cicchitto, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

As for Fort Cherry, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.

On Fort Cherry's side, Ryan Huey made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. While California had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
