Softball Game Preview: Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans vs. Galway Golden Eagles

The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Spartans will face off against the Galway Golden Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's victory against Saratoga Springs wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans skirted past the Blue Streaks 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Blue Streaks: they've now won five in a row.

Ava Yahoudy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Morse, who went 3-for-4 with one run.
