Baseball Recap: Rennye Davilla II Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Northwood

Concord posted their closest win since April 21st on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the NorthWood Panthers a 1-0 shutout. The Minutemen haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Myles Jones tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Concord saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rennye Davilla II, who went 2-for-4 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Davilla II has hit this season.

Concord's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for NorthWood, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concord will welcome Plymouth at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for NorthWood, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Northridge at 5:30 p.m. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
