Softball Recap: Williston Has No Trouble Against Century

Williston hadn't done well against Century recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Coyotes blew past the Patriots 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Coyotes, who have now won three games by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Williston got a great performance from Alana Thomas as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Rylee Irgens was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Mekiah Klumker, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for Williston and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Century, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, Williston and Century will both be playing Legacy the next time they take the field. The Coyotes will head out to face Legacy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Patriots will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
