Recap: Greenhill Hornets vs. Colleyville Heritage Panthers
It was a good run, but the Greenhill Hornets unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Colleyville Heritage by a score of 51-49. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Greenhill came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Colleyville Heritage is ranked 406th).
Colleyville Heritage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Suliane Davis led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Journee Hampton, who scored 11 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Greenhill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Colleyville Heritage, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.
Greenhill will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Nolan Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on December 14th. Colleyville Heritage's road trip will continue as they head out to face Rockwall at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st.
