Softball Game Preview: Walden Grove Red Wolves vs. Sahuaro Cougars

Walden Grove is 0-4 against Sahuaro since March of 2017 but things could change on Monday. Walden Grove will be playing in front of their home fans against Sahuaro at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Walden Grove lost 10-4 to Salpointe Catholic on Thursday.

Walden Grove saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Holzer, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Liana Acuna was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Sahuaro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Tanque Verde, falling 19-3. One positive for the Cougars, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Walden Grove now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Sahuaro, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Sahuaro's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Walden Grove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. It's a different story for Sahuaro, though, as they've only averaged .200. Will they be able to contain Walden Grove's hitters?
