It's playoff time, and Luther Prep had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Lake Country Lutheran Lightning on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Phoenix, who have now won 12 matches in a row.

Lorelei Candler paced Luther Prep's offense, picking up 12 kills. Candler got some help from Lydia Vasold and her 20 assists. Candler was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Despite the defeat, Lake Country Lutheran had strong showings from Leila Merigold, who had nine digs and three assists, and Adeleine Catlin, who had 12 digs, ten kills, and one block. Catlin has been hot, having posted seven or more kills the last five times she's played.

Luther Prep's victory bumped their record up to 33-3. As for Lake Country Lutheran, the loss snapped their winning streak at six matches and leaves them with a 26-16 record.

Coming up, Luther Prep will take on Living Word Lutheran on Saturday. Lake Country Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
