Baseball Recap: Palmetto Starts Season with Win Against Riverview Sarasota

Palmetto had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Riverview Sarasota Rams 8-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Clayton Williams looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Keaton Love was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Chase Nye was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Looking ahead, Palmetto will take on Braden River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverview Sarasota, they will challenge Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
