Northwest Guilford is 9-1 against Southwest Guilford since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Vikings will face off against the Cowboys at 6:00 p.m. Northwest Guilford will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Northwest Guilford and Southeast Guilford faced off in a cross-town battle on Tuesday. The Vikings' defense stepped up to hand the Falcons a 9-0 shutout. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Northwest Guilford's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Southeast Guilford are ranked 363rd).

Northwest Guilford's offense was hitting Southeast Guilford from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Ella Nguyen led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Southwest Guilford made sure to put some goals up on the board against Ragsdale on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 4-0 victory. Considering Southwest Guilford have won six matchups by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Southwest Guilford's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those eight games. As for Northwest Guilford, their win bumped their record up to 8-0-2.

Everything went Northwest Guilford's way against Southwest Guilford in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Northwest Guilford made off with a 5-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
