Basketball Game Preview: Wheeling Wildcats vs. Berwyn/Cicero Morton Mustangs

The Wheeling Wildcats will take on the Berwyn/Cicero Morton Mustangs at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Wheeling will be strutting in after a victory while Berwyn/Cicero Morton will be coming in after a loss.

Wheeling will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Buffalo Grove, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. It was close, but on SaturdayWheeling capped 2024 with a 64-61 win over Buffalo Grove. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since February 10th.

Meanwhile, Berwyn/Cicero Morton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 59-46 to St. Rita.

Wheeling's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Berwyn/Cicero Morton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Wheeling and Berwyn/Cicero Morton were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, but Wheeling came up empty-handed after a 60-59 defeat. Can Wheeling avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
