It was a good run, but Newsome unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Sumner Stingrays by a score of 4-3. Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stingrays apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Newsome was without their leading scorer, Gianna Savino, in Tuesday's game. With Savino sidelined, Newsome had to make some changes to the lineup. And. Lillian Curnutte made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal and one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Newsome's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Sumner, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Newsome didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, an 8-0 victory against Lennard on the 6th. Sumner has also already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against Bloomingdale on the 6th.
