Basketball Recap: Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind Comes Up Short

Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 34-25 to the Phoenix Day School for the Deaf Roadrunners. The Sentinels were not able to make up for their defeat to the Roadrunners from their previous meeting back in February.

Phoenix Day School for the Deaf found their leader in sophomore Zion Parker, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 12 points along with seven boards and three blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Parker has scored at least a third of the Roadrunners' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Miguel Martinez Ramos, who posted two points.

Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Phoenix Day School for the Deaf, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind will venture away from home to face off against The Gregory School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sentinels will be up against the Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.8 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Phoenix Day School for the Deaf, they will head out on the road to take on Salome at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Roadrunners will be up against the Frogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
