Baseball Recap: Hurley Comes Up Short

Hurley's last matchup with Exeter could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. Hurley came up short against Exeter, falling 13-4. The loss continues a trend for Hurley in their meetings with Exeter: they've now lost six in a row.

Jordan Cloud was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Hurley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-15-1 when he doesn't). Noah Powell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Hurley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16-1. As for Exeter, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Coming up, Hurley will venture away from home to take on Bradleyville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.2 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. Exeter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
