The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Brunswick nor Shaker Heights made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Red Raiders with a sharp 12-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now won eight in a row.

Kayden Draiss tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Elijah Poindexter was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Nick Wojtala was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Brunswick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Brunswick's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5. As for Shaker Heights, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Brunswick will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Red Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
