Baseball Recap: Mt. Vernon Makes It Nine in a Row on the Road

Mt. Vernon won the last time they faced Delta and things went their way on Thursday too. The Marauders narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Eagles 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Marauders.

The team relied heavily on Gage Blanchard, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryker Baer, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Mt. Vernon's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Delta, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
