Football Recap: Payette Takes a Loss

Payette extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 3-6. They took a blow against the Weiser Wolverines, falling 50-13. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 70-13 to the Wolverines when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Payette lost, don't look at Darrien Pecunia. Despite the final result, he rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 83 yards and one TD. Pecunia also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making eight total tackles and defending two passes.

As for Weiser, they now have a winning record of 5-4. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their 12-point performance the contest before.

Ty Cobb went supernova, rushing for 125 yards and three scores on only nine carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Ingle, who rushed for 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Payette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Weiser, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-21 victory against Teton on the 1st.
