Soccer Game Preview: Wilson vs. Lakewood

Wilson is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to square off against the Lakewood Gators at 7:00 p.m. Wilson will be strutting in after a win while Lakewood will be coming in after a defeat.

While Wilson fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Green Sea Floyds 3-2.

Meanwhile, Lakewood's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Friday. They fell just short of Manning by a score of 4-3. The contest was a 2-2 toss-up at halftime, but the Gators couldn't quite close it out.

They hit Manning with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Abner Motika, Esteban Trejo, and Luis Rodriguez.

Everything went Wilson's way against Lakewood in their previous meeting back in February of 2019, as Wilson made off with a 4-0 win. Will Wilson repeat their success, or does Lakewood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
