Basketball Game Preview: Troy Warriors vs. Sunny Hills Lancers

The Troy Warriors and the Sunny Hills Lancers will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Troy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Troy ended up a good deal behind Dana Hills and lost 54-40.

Meanwhile, Sunny Hills was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 50-49 to Cerritos.

Troy will need focus on slowing down Ze'Brien Watkins, one of several Sunny Hills players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Watkins is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games he's played. Kamron Tonga was another key player, putting up 14 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Sunny Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January.

Troy's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Sunny Hills, they suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 8-6.

Troy strolled past Sunny Hills in their previous matchup back in February by a score of 57-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Troy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
