Lapel had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 33-point drubbing they dealt Rushville on Friday. The Bulldogs claimed a resounding 41-8 victory over the Lions. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.

Devin Craig had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 268 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 passes. What's more, he racked up 149.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Lapel's leading receiver Andrew Evelo was Craig's top target yet again, picking up 87 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

The win keeps Lapel at an undefeated 6-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 35.3 points this season. As for Rushville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Lapel will take on Heritage Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Craig and Eli Nix. As for Rushville, they will square off against Lawrenceburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups.
