Naugatuck is 8-2 against Holy Cross since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Greyhounds will host the Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Naugatuck is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Oxford just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the Wolverines, falling 11-1.

Naugatuck saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gianna Bush, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

Meanwhile, Holy Cross came up short against Woodland Regional on Wednesday and fell 6-1.

Holy Cross has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Naugatuck, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Naugatuck beat Holy Cross 5-2 in their previous meeting on Monday. Will the Greyhounds repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
